Decent food. Hadn't eaten here for at least 10yrs. We were really hungry hungry coming back from Angola. Not having many choices on 20 in Middlebury besides Essenhaus, we decided to stop here. Got the buffet. Food was decent, and friendly staff. Could tell food had been out a bit since they weren't very busy. But it wasn't overly dry, and was still tasty.
We had Rulli's buffet and it was only ok. The salad bar was fine. 3 soups but not much variation between them. The pizza was kind of boring. (A pepperoni, a sausage, and a mushroom.). The most disappointing part was the "main course". Some fried chicken (overcooked) and canned green beans. If I eat there again, I won't be getting the buffet.
The food was sub par, some of the employees I would not want around my food! The dishes were not clean! Pizza Hut is a much better choice for pizza.
Can't beat the lunch buffet. Full salad bar with mix of romaine lettuce, green pepper slices, cherry tomatoes and black olives, several dressings, 3 pasta salads, broccoli salad, cottage cheese, peaches, sliced eggs and baked beans, im sure there's more that I'm missing. 3 soup choices today of chicken noodle, chili and minestrone-all very good. Green beans, galic bread, pasta with white sauce, ravioli, Hoosier potatoes, fried chicken, never ending variety of pizza and last but not least dessert pizza. Serves til 3pm and $6.99, beverages not included.
This restaurant is unassuming from the outside, but a great choice! While our server was having an off night, the manager was happy to offer her assistance when it came to our dining experience. The Goodfella's dish was delicious and they had a great draft selection.
